University of Hawai‘i Scientist Named AAAS Fellow

Belated congratulations to veteran Hawai‘i astronomer Alan Tokunaga for being named a fellow of the Amerian Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Toknaga was recognized for achievements in teaching, research, adminstration and communication about science. He investigated the solar system and interstellar-medium as an astronomer at Honolulu partner University of Hawai‘i Institute for Astronomy and served as director for NASA's Infrared Telescope on Mauna Kea. KJHe continues to mentor high school students since retiring.
